In addition to live craft demos and browsing rows of one-of-a-kind handmade furniture, jewelry, ceramics, glass, fiber art, and more, visitors will interact with farm animals, partake in an agri-venture center and pumpkin contest, ride a horse-drawn hay wagon, and watch pumpkin carving by the master of the craft. And, of course, no Oktoberfest would be complete without the season’s best beer, wine, spirits, gourmet specialties, and fresh Germanic food. Get your early bird discount tickets now!

D’Arcy Simpson Art Works Presents New Work by Gretchen Kelly
D'Arcy Simpson Art Works
409 Warren Street
Hudson, NY
Join us during Hudson’s Second Saturday Gallery Crawl on October 8th for a new show by Gretchen Kelly. In her new work, Kelly explores the human body’s delicate balance of fluidity and solidity. She writes, “I have no desire to work on a painting over and over--for me, the art I make is about what I can do in that moment in time, what I can capture in seconds. The human figure is always moving, feeling, changing-it is never totally still. The potential of the human body to express is what I am interested in.”

Beware the Basilisk (and a Bunch of Other Things Too)
Gallery 40
40 Cannon Street
Poughkeepsie, NY
Gallery 40 is featuring local artist KP Devlin and his incredible fantasy for the month of October.
Ever since he was a young boy, KP Devlin has experienced vivid, outlandish dreams. Recurring themes and characters from these dreams have evolved into his own personal mythology. Landscapes and creatures he would visit and interact with on a nightly basis eventually found their way into his waking hours via pencils and paper.
Today KP's dreams continue to inspire his artwork. And much like when he was a child, he will let the images spill out initially without engaging a heavy thought process. But as a painting develops, his main focus becomes finding the perfect balance of humor and horror and presenting the images as though they were stills from a movie. Or a dream.
